The player of the month is for someone deemed to have excelled over the last month in league cricket and is awarded by the Management Committee. The May recipient is Max Johnson.

Max played three games for the 3rd XI in May and has been on the winning side on all of them. He has played a crucial role as he currently sits in 2nd place in Division 12 East Central for runs and 5th place for fielding dismissals across all teams.

The 3rd XI's first league win came against Ewell, with Max taking a great catch in the field. The team needed 186 to win and Max anchored the innings superbly with 42 from 90 balls, which was also a personal best score in league cricket.

In the second league victory 11 runs were scored, with 4 overs also being bowled as part of a narrow 33 run victory. In the third match however Max really came to the fore, with 55 not out from 71 balls helping to set an imposing 200/4 for the opposition to chase. This was Max's highest score in any form of cricket and what a great time to get it! There were also another two catches in the field to help seal the victory.
