The West Wimbledon CC member of the month award is presented to someone who has gone above and beyond in their recent contribution to the club. It's just one way of celebrating all the things our members do that make our club a fantastic community. Anyone in the club can nominate someone - look out for a Boundary Buzz email asking for this next time! The Management Committee then choose from those nominations.

The winner for April 2025 is Michael Chadwick.

Michael was the driving force behind our Get Set Facilities Day on 21st April. With his technical expertise the new sightscreen frames have been put back together after 18 months in storage. We anticipate these being used when we are able to install the planned NTP surface (for a second square) at Beverley Meads, which will make games a more enjoyable experience. Michael also took on numerous other tasks including fixing cover frames and boundary rope trolleys, plus the installation of a lockbox. He also brought along many of the other key items for the day e.g. the black paint for the scoreboards didn't magically appear out of thin air! These jobs all make a huge contribution towards making our home ground a nicer place to play.

In addition, with his Safeguarding Officer hat on Michael has been busy helping those who need to complete DBS checks as part of their role e.g. team captains and managers. Various forms and policies have also been updated for the 2025 season, which may go unnoticed by some but are all important in ensuring we meet our safeguarding requirements. Without those, we'd be at risk of losing our ClubMark and Surrey Cricket Championship league status, so thank you Michael for all of your hard work.
