The West Wimbledon CC member of the month award is presented to someone who has gone above and beyond in their recent contribution to the club. It's just one way of celebrating all the things our members do that make our club a fantastic community. Anyone in the club can nominate someone - look out for a Boundary Buzz email asking for this next time! The Management Committee then choose from those nominations.

The winner for August 2025 is Akhilesh Sivaraman.

Throughout the season Akhilesh has helped to set the aspirations, targets and ethos of cricket throughout the Club. This ensures suitable cricket for all ages and abilities of our members, which has been particularly important in August as the junior season finished, with several youngsters readily available to participate in adult cricket.

It can be challenging to help coordinate the selection process and ensure that relevant policies are followed, whilst maintaining harmonious relations between the respective team captains. That can be tricky if they want the same players...

Availability has broadly been pretty good throughout August, which has meant fitting everyone into teams throughout the weekend has been tough. Akhilesh has tried his very best to provide everyone with gametime, although it isn't always easy!

Thank you for all your hard work Akhilesh in helping to drum up support for the teams, making life easier for team captains and more enjoyable for all of our members.
