The West Wimbledon CC member of the month award is presented to someone who has gone above and beyond in their recent contribution to the club. It's just one way of celebrating all the things our members do that make our club a fantastic community. Anyone in the club can nominate someone - look out for a Boundary Buzz email asking for this next time! The Management Committee then choose from those nominations.

The winner for August 2026 is John Kendall.

Many members will be aware that our pavilion refurbishment project has been ongoing for most of the year. A complete overhaul has transformed the whole space into a much more welcoming environment for both members and guests. It has also provided significant operational benefits behind the scenes for our volunteers and John has been a huge help in achieving this.

Away from pavilion works, John helped to organise our annual President's Day on 2nd August, which was a huge success. It was great to see so many from across the club coming together.

It doesn't stop there, as John has secured us a new club sponsor. More details incoming very soon!

Last but very much not least - in the school summer holiday period the regular cleaners do not work at the club. John persuaded a family member to come in and do this (with him supposedly helping), which made a huge difference in keeping the newly renovated spaces looking sharp.
