Senior Cricket Last Week (30 June - 6 July):
- 1st XI lost vs Thames Ditton (scorecard here by 15 runs in SCC Division 7 Central. The boundary was interesting thanks to a tree falling down onto part of the outfield, so both skippers had an extra tactical dimension to consider. The opposition racked up 203/7 on a tricky pitch, which looked daunting given our batting struggles so far this year. Samuel Chadwick (47) and Joe Hicks ( 41) gave us a fighting chance, but alas we fell just short on 188/8. It was our highest score of the season so there are positives to take into the second half of the campaign.
- 2nd XI lost vs Mitcham (scorecard here by 4 wickets in SCC Division 10 North. Ian White (32) top scored, but once he was out the rest of the team crumbled to 101 all out. Early inroads were made with the ball, but we never quite had enough runs as the opposition chased the target for the loss of 6 wickets.
- 3rd XI lost vs South London (scorecard here) by 6 runs in SCC Division 12 East Central. Alex Moore (3/34) was the pick of the bowlers as the opposition smashed 267/5, which was way beyond anything we have chased in recent memory. Step forwards skipper John Jackson (96) and Andrew Woolley (61) to set up an exciting chase, which ended up agonisingly short on 261/5. A fine effort and oh so close!
- Sunday XI drew vs Red Square Lions (scorecard here). The opposition reached 133/3 before rain arrived and enforced an abandonment.

Women's Cricket Last Week (30 June - 6 July):
Women's XI won vs Battersea Ironsides by 37 runs. After a soggy start the game began with the opposition making 82/5 for an adjusted net score of 257, with 3 wickets from Emma Green proving crucial. In response some brilliant batting achieved 99/1 for an adjusted net score of 294, meaning a 37 run victory. An excellent result in our first full length match!
