Senior Cricket This Week (27 July - 2 August):

• WEDNESDAY: Training at Barn Elms Sports Trust from 7-9pm.
• THURSDAY: Bank Blitz vs HMT.
• SATURDAY: 1st XI vs Old Hamptonians (h), 2nd XI vs Wandgas (a), 3rd XI vs Surrey Titans (h).
• SUNDAY: Club XI vs President's XI as part of President's Day.

Senior Cricket Last Week (20 - 26 July):

• 1st XI lost vs Ham & Petersham by 73 runs in Surrey Cricket Championship Division 8 Central.
Will Saich (4/34) led the bowling effort and was well backed by a very good team fielding performance. This wasn't enough to prevent the opposition league leaders from scoring an imposing 267/9. James Tait (33) helped take the WWCC response to 61/0, but a collapse to 75/5 turned the game on it's head. Skipper Andrew Merriman (34 not out) recovered some pride and crucial batting bonus points as WWCC eventually finished on 194 all out.
• 2nd XI won vs South London by 5 wickets in Surrey Cricket Championship Division 11 East Central.
Tom Chapman (4/24) starred with the ball as the opposition reached 185 all out. The game was in the balance at 101/4 but Sid Goud (44) and Andrew Hunnable (39 not out) combined to win the game with 4 overs to spare. Three wins in a row for the 2nd XI to get back into the promotion race!
• 3rd XI lost vs South London by 1 wicket in Surrey Cricket Championship Division 12 East Central.
Brad Skelly (28) top scored but the team could only manage an under par 146 all out. Sonny Tillotson took a stunning first senior 5fer with 5/19 to reduce the opposition to 105/9. Alas the final pair miraculously saw them home, dealing a major blow to the 3's promotion hopes.
• 4th XI lost vs Old Rutlishians by 5 wickets.
Tom McCahon (73) and Freddie Carty (46) helped WWCC post a competitive 201/9 from 35 overs. Finn Proudfoot (2/40) was the pick of the figures but could not stop Old Ruts from breezing home with 6 overs to spare.
• Sunday XI won vs Trinity Midwhitgiftian by 6 wickets.
Wickets were shared around as the opposition set 184/6 declared. Every WWCC batter made it to double figures in response with Umang Patel (37) top scoring as part of a comfortable chase. A hat trick of wins to go into the final stages of the season with some real momentum.
• Bank Blitz lost vs DEFRA by 25 runs.
In the Public Services T20 Tournament semi final, the opposition posted 136/8 despite a brilliant 5/22 from David Friar, which included a stunning hat trick. Jivnaz Singh (27 not out) top scored with the bat but WWCC came up short on 111/7.
• Bank Blitz won vs HMT by 2 wickets.
The 3rd place play off in the tournament saw Sophie Hughes (2/16) help restrict the opposition to 128/6. Nathan Vince and Abhik Mukherjee both reached the mandatory 25 retirement mark as WWCC ran out winners with two overs to spare.

Women's Cricket This Week (27 July - 2 August):

• SUNDAY:1st XI vs Overton Park (h) as part of President's Day.

Women's Cricket Last Week (20 - 26 July):

• 1st XI won vs Old Rutlishians by 76 runs in Surrey Cricket Championship Tier 2 North.
WWCC batted first and scored a huge 148/2 from 16 overs for a pairs net score of 338, with Liz Harvey (20) top scoring. Harvey kicked off the bowling effort with a brilliant yorker to claim a wicket first ball, before Khloe Treloggan (3/22) picked up the team's best bowling figures of the season so far. The opposition could only manage 92/6 from 16 overs for a pairs net score of 262 and a big WWCC victory.
