The season draws to a close.

Weekly update on what's coming up for WWCC, plus results from last week. Full details for all training and fixtures can be found within Pitchero.

Upcoming Events:

The regular cricket season has now finished, but there are still events to come!

Senior Cricket Last Week (1 - 7 September):

  • 1st XI lost vs Thames Ditton (scorecard here by 10 wickets wickets in SCC Division 7 Central and finish 10th in the table. Joe Hicks hit 46 but we could only score 105 all out, which the opposition comfortably knocked off.
  • 2nd XI lost vs Mitcham (scorecard here by 9 wickets in SCC Division 10 North and finish 9th in the table. Extras top scored in a collapse of 68 all out, which was easily chased for the loss of 1 wicket.
  • 3rd XI lost vs South London (scorecard here) by 6 wickets in SCC Division 12 East Central and finish 6th in the table. Skipper John Jackson hit 35 but we folded to 90 all out. There were 2 wickets each for youngsters Charlie Brewer and Sonny Tillotson, but the opposition smashed their way home.
  • Sunday XI #1 won vs Outwood (scorecard here) by 5 wickets. Captain Mo Dilshad (3.44) and Shaunak Jani (3/39) limited the opposition to 158 all out. Shak Nawaz led the way with 58 for a brilliant 5 wicket victory.
  • Sunday XI #2 won vs Godalming (scorecard here) by 2 runs. Andrew Hunnable (53) ensured we set a competitive 172/8 declared and wickets began to fall regularly in the chase. A late burst by Andrew Merriman (3/29) ensured that going into the final over all four results (win / draw / tie / defeat) were possible. Tom Chapman bowled brilliantly and off the final ball a combination of Peter Andrews, Merriman & Chapman combined for a run out to seal a memorable two run victory.
