• Saturday 12 September - End of Season Facilities Day
• Friday 9 October - End of Season Awards Night

Senior Cricket Last Week (2 - 6 September):

• 1st XI lost vs Walton on Thames by 8 wickets in Surrey Cricket Championship Division 8 Central.
It was a fine recovery from 31/4 to 170/8, chiefly led by Richard Kendall (58) and Shak Nawaz (33). The opposition had two bowlers who had recently been measured at 75mph, and some of the bruising may last until next season! WWCC bowled tidily but the opposition batting was very competent and they eased to victory with 9 overs to spare. Skipper David Friar will be thinking all winter about costing Ali Glossop his first ever 1s wicket with a late drop...it probably won't even be mentioned at the awards nightA 5th place league finish was a very good effort and our best since 2023.
• 2nd XI lost vs Trinity MidWhitgiftian by 4 wickets in a friendly due to a bye week in Surrey Cricket Championship Division 11 East Central.
Harish Shahid and Numayr Hussain joint top scored with 28 but it was a below par 119 all out from WWCC. Mo Dilshad (4/38) gave us hope but we never quite had enough runs on the board to compete.It has however been a brilliant season, with a 4th place league finish the best 2nd XI performance since all the way back in 2018!
• 3rd XI lost vs Old Wimbledonians by 7 wickets in Surrey Cricket Championship Division 12 East Central.
Brad Skelly (60) and Tom Campbell (52) both hit fine half centuries, but the real highlight was a first ever 50 not out from Oliver Chadwick. It took just 33 balls and was achieved from the final ball of the innings in a score of 216/5. In response Oli Johnson took 3/51 and the game was finely poised at 65/3....but that was as good as it got. The opposition ran out comfortable winners with 5 overs to spare to ruin our promotion hopes. A 4th place finish represents our joint best 3rd XI league performance since re-entering league competition in 2020.
• Sunday XI drew vs Hampton Wick Royal.
The Peirse father and son (Henry and Alf) hit 50s for a second consecutive week, with a top score (40) from Will Saich helping WWCC post 250/5 declared. The opposition had a decent start but 3/17 from Saich put them under huge pressure, with a first ever wicket from Michael Chadwick following soon after. Alas we could not bowl them out and they finished on 176/6.
