There was good news before the game, as it was discovered our oppo (Nasir) were a) the 2019 champions and b) had scored 458 in a 40 over game last weekend. The pitch was a pudding due to the wet weather, and although we did well to keep them to 155 we didn't fire with the bat, ending on 114 all out. Full scorecard here.

Highlights included:

1. Joe Mac shouting "catchhhhhhhhh", quickly followed by "oh sh!t that's mine".
2. Crane's caught and bowled, although some claim he's still scared now.
3. Kendall's attempt to throw the ball back into play after taking a catch two yards behind the boundary, before complaining that it was the 7th ball of the over anyway.
4. Robert really enjoyed trying to sort out the mess the oppo had made of the scorebook.
5. Some enjoyable tip and run batting from all, although it may have helped contribute to the four run outs in our innings. Probably close to some kind of record.
7. Extras was comfortably top scorer, but it helps when it's two runs for a wide and anything down the legside.
8. Excellent turnout at the pub afterwards.

We go again next week away at Old Emanuel in a bid to get our first points on the board.
