President's Day Schedule & Teams Announcement

All welcome to join us on Sunday 3rd August for a day of fun.

President's Day brings the whole club together on Sunday 3rd August, with cricket, a food truck, bouncy castle and more. Supporters, friends and family are very much encouraged to join us at West Wimbledon CC (SW20 0SS). The day is held in honour of our President, Barry Brown, of whom you can learn more here.

Schedule

There are several matches going on over the course of the day:

  • 11am - Bar opens.
  • 12pm - President's XI vs Club XI (35 overs) for the Hoffman Cup - the President's XI consists of past / present committee members and other long standing players, vs a Club XI drawn from current players across all the WWCC teams.
  • 12pm - Juniors vs Parents & Coaches (T20) - can the youngsters defeat their mentors?
  • 2pm to 4pm - food truck open. For all players this will be included in a £15 match fee. For spectators payment on the day is possible.
  • 3.30pm - President's Address
  • 4pm - Women's XI Internal Match - Wombles vs Wombats (8 a side pairs).
  • 6.30pm / 7pm - Presentation and raffle prize draw.
  • 9pm - Bar closes.

Food & Drink

A food truck will be running from 2-4pm and the bar will be open from 11am to 9pm.

  • Two tickets to The Hundred Eliminator (semi finals - both men's and women's) at The Oval on Saturday 30th August.

Parking

There is plentiful parking available on site at both the Barham Road (SW20 0ET) and Preston Road (SW20 0SS) entrances to the ground.

TEAMS & MATCH RULES

President's XI vs Club XI

President's XI: Mark Streather (capt), David Friar, George Barton, Matt Bartlett, Matt Luddington, Mo Dilshad, Peter Andrews, Oliver Chadwick, Samuel Chadwick, Tom Campbell, Will Parry, Yahya Soofi

Club XI: Arin Gramopadhye (capt), Alex Streeter, Andrew Hunnable, Haris Shahid, Numayr Hussain, Rohit Bokam, Saif Sajid, Shaunak Jani, Tom Chapman, Tom Hubbard, Uttam Gramopadhye, TBC

  • 35 overs per side.
  • 12 players per side. Only 11 allowed at any one time fielding.
  • Opening batters to be drawn at random.
  • Opening bowlers to be drawn at random (must bowl one over minimum).
  • Wicketkeepers shall keep for a maximum of 3 overs. The first two keepers shall be drawn at random, with the captain choosing the order afterwards.
  • All front foot and waist high no balls result in a free hit. This does not apply to balls bouncing more than once, although they will still be marked as no balls.
  • Maximum of seven overs per bowler.
  • Maximum of five fielders outside of the inner fielding ring at all times.
  • Batters to retire (but can come back) if scoring 50 runs.

Juniors vs Parents & Coaches.

Parents / Coaches XI: Richard Kendall (capt), Adam Fitzjohn, Andrew Woolley, Ben Webb, Chris Dare, Duncan Proudfoot, Michael Chadwick, Miles Walkden, Peter Smith, Rex Singleshurst, Richard Down, Simone Rofena, Tom Singlehurst

  • 20 overs per side.
  • Opening batters to be drawn at random.
  • Opening bowlers to be drawn at random (must bowl one over minimum).
  • Maximum of four overs per bowler.
  • Maximum of five fielders outside of the inner fielding ring at all times.
  • Batters to retire (but can come back) if scoring 25 runs.
  • Fielding team can choose one over where a side arm thrower is permitted to be used by the bowler.

Women's XI - Wombles vs Wombats.

  • 16 overs per side.
  • "Pairs "cricket rules with each batting pair receiving four overs.
  • Batting team starts at 200, but lose five runs for each wicket.
  • Wides and no balls are worth two runs, with no extra ball bowled apart from the final over.
  • Maximum of four overs per bowler.
