President's Day Schedule & Teams Announcement

All welcome to join us on Sunday 2nd August for a day of fun.

President's Day brings the whole club together on Sunday 2nd August, with cricket, a food truck, bouncy castle and more. Supporters, friends and family are very much encouraged to join us at West Wimbledon CC (SW20 0SS). The day is held in honour of our President, John Kendall, of whom you can learn more here.

Schedule

There are several matches going on over the course of the day:

  • 9.30am - U15s vs Malden Wanderers in their final league match of the season.
  • 12pm - President's XI vs Club XI for the Hoffman Cup - the President's XI consists of past / present committee members and other long standing players, vs a Club XI drawn from current players across all the WWCC teams.
  • 1.30pm - Women's Team vs Overton Park.
  • 2.30pm ish - Cricket break.
  • 3pm - President's Address.
  • 3.30pm ish - Cricket restarts.
  • 6.30pm / 7pm - Presentation and raffle prize draw.

Food & Drink

A BBQ will be running from 12pm - 4pm. The bar will be open from 11am - 9pm.

Entertainment

  • Car show from our sponsors Currie Motors. There will also be a "guess the amount" competition with a fantastic prize.
  • Golf putting competition with our sponsors from Wimbledon Common Golf Club.
  • Cricket based competitions including longest throw (12.30pm), most runs (1pm), stump aim (1.30pm) and target batting (2pm).
  • Bouncy Castle
  • Boule
  • Croquet
  • Giant Jenga
  • Assorted other mini games

Win Test Match Tickets

We have some great raffle prizes this year to help raise funds for the club including:

  • Two tickets to England vs Pakistan on Day 1 of the 2nd Test match at Lords on Thursday 27th August.
  • Assorted other runner up prizes.

There is plentiful parking available on site at both the Barham Road (SW20 0ET) and Preston Road (SW20 0SS) entrances to the ground.

TEAMS & MATCH RULES

President's XI vs Club XI

President's XI: Mark Streather (capt), Andrew Merriman, Andrew Woolley, Darren Gallimore, John Jackson, Matt Bartlett, Mike Broughton, Peter Andrews, Oliver Chadwick, Richard Down, Steve Bastian, Will Parry.

Club XI: Shak Nawaz (capt), Alex Streeter, Alistair Glossop, Andrew Hunnable, Ciaran Cartmell, Freddie Carty, Haris Shahid, James Calfe, Numayr Hussain, Milo Turcan, Rohit Bokam, Saif Sajid.

  • Timed (declaration) cricket - 20 overs from 5pm.
  • 12 players per side. Only 11 allowed at any one time fielding.
  • Opening batters to be drawn at random.
  • Opening bowlers to be drawn at random (must bowl one over minimum).
  • All no balls result in a free hit, other than balls bouncing more than once, although they will still be marked as no balls.
  • Maximum of eight overs per bowler.
  • Maximum of five fielders outside of the inner fielding ring at all times.
  • Batters to retire (but can come back) if scoring 50 runs.

Women's XI vs Overton Park.

Team: Emily Marsh (capt), Abby Mustoe, Charlotte Kendall, Heather Lewis, Karen Chadwick, Khloe Treloggan, Kiman Bassi, Isabel Marsh

  • 16 overs per side.
  • "Pairs "cricket rules with each batting pair receiving four overs.
  • Batting team starts at 200, but lose five runs for each wicket.
  • Wides and no balls are worth two runs, with no extra ball bowled apart from the final over.
  • Maximum of four overs per bowler.
